FireBrick FB6000 beta launch
The first beta test FireBrick FB6000 has been shipped and the first beta release (V0.00.313-Dennis) issued. The initial testers have been using FB6000 for some years now, and the latest code for many months but this marks the first external companies using FireBricks in anger for their network. The beta release marks a stable and functional issue of the FB6202 L2TP router for use by ISPs. Once additional features have been finalised we expect full launched products to be available soon.
FireBricks Provide Connectivity at V Festival
Virgin Radio used FireBricks to provide connectivity at their huge V Festival during the summer.
Faced with the problem of obtaining reliable and fast network connectivity to this remote open-air site, they contacted us.
We provided a solution using two FireBrick 105s to bond four 1Mb ADSL connections. Utilising FireBrick's Tunnel Bonding technology it was possible to provide a resilient 4Mb connection, with a 'roaming' block of fixed public IP addresses.
The IT staff at Virgin Radio Outside Broadcast are very pleased with the result, and we wish them a successful weekend!
